Repairs - Purcell Tire and Service locations can handle almost any type of vehicle repair. Below is some helpful information about common types of repair.

Alternators

If the alternator on your automobile fails, Purcell Tire can help repair the problem.  A mal-functioning alternator means that the battery cannot hold a state of charge, and this results in a vehicle that will not start.


Your alternator is driven by the mechanical force of the engine and converts that mechanical power into electrical power, then puts it into the battery for storage. Most often when an alternator fails, there will be a warning light on the dash that will come on to alert you of the failure.  In some cases the alternator output has decreased to a point where the battery won't charge but the warning light is not illuminated.
