Purcell Tires repair service is a world leader in commercial tire retreads and has offered retreading services since 1964. We retread tires for commercial and off-highway vehicles, including those used in highway construction and for fleet and mining operations.
Purcell is currently ranked as the third largest independent commercial tire dealership in North America, the nation’s largest retreader for off-the-road tires.
Retreaded tires are lasting as long as a new tire and in some case better. With the savings from retreading a tire, an operation can significantly reduce their cost-per-mile and still achieve the same number of miles driven per tire.
Today, tire manufacturers design tires to provide service greater than the tread will last. By retreading the tire casing, an operation can reap the benefits of these highly designed tires. One of these benefits is lowering money spent on tires. It cost about 30% to 50% of a new tire to retread a tire casing. Two retreaded casings are worth one new tire.
Oil is a major component in the rubber compounds used in tires. A retread uses about 1/3 of the oil needed for a new tire. Retreading is an important part to conserve our natural resources as well as utilizing the tire casings instead of dumping them into landfills.
Retreaded tires are a simple way a company can help to be GREEN. Retreading tires is one of the most effective ways to reduce and reuse tires. Not only will this save you money, it is the eco-friendly way to help the environment by using the tire casing multiple times after the original tread is worn off.
Currently, Purcell operates 5 retread facilities across the United States, with an average of 1,300 commercial truck tires per day and 160 OTR tires per day.
Purcell Tire is the largest OTR retreader and second overall including truck tires.
